Since its establishment, the mission of the Serbian Church Choral Society of Pancevo has been to connect people of all ages and nationalities with the magnificence and emotional depth of Orthodox choral music. About Serbian Church Choral Society of Pancevo
The Serbian Church Choral Society of Pancevo is the oldest singing society in the Balkans, established in 1838. Since its establishment, the Society has been continuously active, regularly singing at liturgies in the Temple of the Assumption of the Most Holy Mother of God in Pančevo.
In addition to regular singing at liturgies, weddings, baptisms, Christmas and Easter services, and services during other religious holidays, the choir participates in many city events and concerts, as well as numerous festivals throughout Serbia and international tours.
In this way, the choir makes an immeasurable contribution to the religious and cultural life of Serbs in the country and abroad, as well as to the lives of all other admirers of Serbian Orthodox music.
What makes the Serbian Church Choral Society of Pancevo exceptional is that its repertoire is not limited to well-known Serbian and Orthodox choral music composers, but includes a much wider range of globally renowned composers. There is a particular emphasis on the works of contemporary Serbian composers, as well as on young Serbian musicians who are just beginning to build their musical careers.
